Curricular Overview
Teaching and learning are the core elements of a Charleston Collegiate education. The school provides an exciting college prep curriculum with individualized advanced courses, while at the same time our Academic Achievement Program offers services and accommodations to meet the unique needs of individual students. Our hallmark is that we are “a learning community where everybody matters.” We are traditional in our methods and values, but we also strive to be inclusive, creative, and caring. Students are expected to take increasing responsibility for their learning as they move from the teacher-directed work of the Lower School's early childhood program through the explorations encouraged in the Middle School. They enter the Upper School ready to become independent, critical thinkers. The school’s mission is rooted in a commitment to helping students learn to use their minds well and to articulate their thoughts in a demanding, supportive environment. |
