Lower School

The Lower School curriculum provides a strong foundation on which to build. Students are taught skills and concepts, but are also encouraged to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to become inquisitive, independent learners. Students are respected for their learning style and appreciated for their individual strengths and talents. Cooperative learning is promoted in a challenging, stimulating environment. Alternative assessment, hands-on activities and off-campus outings enrich the students’ active learning. All students study the core curriculum of language arts, math, science and global studies. In addition, students are involved with art, Spanish, music, physical education and drama. The Lower School program instills a love of learning.

The Preschool Program fosters intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth. With the use of manipulative materials that are developmentally appropriate, the child chooses or is presented activities that stimulate and cultivate a love of exploration and discovery. Each child is nurtured to lay the foundation for future academic achievement with focus on the development of the whole child.
