From the Admission Director

Dear Prospective Student,

Welcome to Charleston Collegiate School. During your academic experience, you will grow and change more quickly than at almost any other time in your life. As you develop independence and establish your own convictions, you will test yourself physically, intellectually, and spiritually. We hope to be a part of your life by offering a unique educational environment.

Charleston Collegiate is dedicated to serving a cross-section of our community and to helping families meet the cost of private education. We believe that independent education must continue to foster diversity in its school population; we believe in a multicultural and multiracial environment; and we believe that learning involves differences and diversity. We are dedicated to offering a financial aid program that makes it possible for deserving students, who otherwise would be unable to attend, to be members of our school community. You should not be discouraged from applying because of the cost of attending Charleston Collegiate. Each year, approximately 35% of our students receive financial assistance on some level.

We are excited about the possibilities that our school offers to the Lowcountry communities. The founders of this school had a vision for good education for the residents of Johns Island and for their children in generations to follow. The wisdom of this group has placed the school in a position to continue to grow and develop as educational needs in this country change. You will face remarkable challenges from the entire world as you pass from your early learning experiences to young adulthood. We want to help you meet this challenge.

When you consider where you want to be for the next four or twelve years, we urge you to consider Charleston Collegiate. We are confident that the educational experience you will have here will prepare you for coping with the challenges of the 21st century. As a graduate of Charleston Collegiate, we hope you will see yourself as a successful student of life, prepared to take on the exciting opportunities that await you.
