Charleston Collegiate recognizes that while our families view tuition as an important investment in their children's future, it may be a stretch for some families. Our school is committed to providing a limited number of scholarships and financial aid.

Financial aid grants are based on financial need and are granted annually to eligible students who are in grades 1 - 12.  

Scholarship may be awarded to any grade with a priority given to Middle and Upper School students.

Scholarship awards are based on the financial need of students who demonstrate the CCS Scholar requirements of: 

• dedication to academic excellence, 

• exceptional representation of the school’s core values,

• upholding the highest standard of conduct on and off campus while setting a good example for other students, 

• student and family involvement in extracurricular activities and campus activities in an effort to be an integral part of the school community.

Award Process: 

• The application for financial aid and scholarship is submitted to and reviewed by a third-party financial aid assessor, and subsequently reviewed by the CCS Financial Aid or Scholarship Committee. Scholarship applicants are also assessed on essays, academics, core values, and extracurricular  activities. 
• The Financial Aid Committee meets to determine financial aid grants  for returning students by mid-January. The Scholarship Committee meets to determine the first round of scholarship awards to current families by mid – late February.
• New students must first apply for Admission by submitting an Admissions Application followed by submitting the Financial Assistance/Scholarship Application (typically becomes available in February).
• Notification of awards are emailed and will appear in the Enrollment Contract.  Scholarship Enrollment contracts include additional commitments to which the student / family must uphold to maintain their scholarship award. The Enrollment Contract must be signed by the stated deadline to secure an award and spot in the class.

Confidentiality:

The tuition assistance committees maintain strict confidentiality over tuition assistance files. Faculty and students are not informed of financial tuition assistance decisions. While we publicly honor students who have worked hard to receive a Scholarship, the specific financial details are not divulged beyond the committee and family.  The school trusts that the family will keep the same financial discretion regarding awards and decisions.

Application: Students/families must reapply each year for financial aid and scholarship.  The application must be completed by the stated deadlines below. Submission deadline for returning students is typically late December and mid-late February for new students.   

Requirements include: Household information, Income & Expenses, Assets & Debts, Parent Contribution, and Special Circumstances.  If applying for a Scholarship, Scholarship Essay questions must be filled out in addition to the Financial Aid Application.

CURRENT CCS FAMILIES:

• Dec. 1, 2023: Financial Aid & Scholarship Applications OPEN
• Dec. 31, 2023: Financial Aid and Scholarship Paperwork DEADLINE FOR CURRENT FAMILIES
• Jan. 5, 2024: Re-Enrollment for CCS Families OPENS
  • Financial Aid and Scholarship Awards will not be available to review on enrollment contracts until late January.
• Jan 31, 2024: Re-Enrollment DEADLINE for Current CCS Families that have a rising pre-k or rising kindergarten student. Sign Enrollment contracts and pay 7% deposit by this date to hold CCS placement. After this date, space will open to new families. 
• Feb. 29, 2024: Re-Enrollment DEADLINE for Current CCS Families. Sign Enrollment contracts and pay 7% deposit by this date to hold CCS placement. After this date, space will open to new families.
• June 1, 2024: Deadline for cancellation of 23-24 enrollment and release of contractual obligations for the 24-25 school year.  7% deposits are non-refundable.

NEW FAMILIES:

• Dec. 1, 2023: Financial Aid & Scholarship Applications OPEN.  Financial Aid is open to 1^st – 12^th grade families only.  This application is separate from the Admission application checklist in the Admission Portal.
• Feb. 8, 2024: Admissions application checklist and Financial Aid/Scholarship Paperwork DEADLINE for NEW FAMILIES in rising 1^st – 12^th grade.
• March 8, 2024: Admission Acceptance and any applicable financial aid or scholarship awards announced for new families. 
• March 22, 2024: Enrollment DEADLINE for acceptances made on March 8^th. Sign enrollment contracts and pay enrollment fees by this date to hold CCS placement. Enrollment fee is non-refundable.
• June 1, 2024: Deadline for cancellation of 24-25 enrollment and release of contractual obligations for the 24-25 school year.  Enrollment fee / Deposits are non-refundable.
