Our Grandfriends are a special part of our CCS community. Here at CCS we honor our Grandfriends for playing and laughing and helping us grow, reading stories and singing and loving us so!

Our Grandfriends are special, they are loved each and every day and we feel extra special to honor our Grandfriends at our Annual Grandfriends Day Celebration. Our Grandfriends support our CCS community by volunteering, mentoring, guest teaching classes, and through monetary gifts.

Matching Gifts

Did you know that many companies match employee donations to nonprofit organizations, effectively doubling the impact of your gift? For example, if you donate $5,000 to CCS, your employer’s matching gift program could contribute an additional $5,000 to the school. To participate, check with your employer’s Human Resources office to learn about the process for submitting a match request. Once you have the necessary forms or log-in details, forward them to CCS along with your gift.

Stock Gifts

Gifts of securities, such as appreciated stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, can be a tax-wise way to support Charleston Collegiate School.

Planned Giving & Outright Gifts

Planned giving is a meaningful way to make a lasting impact, often embraced by grandparents and other supporters who wish to benefit CCS over the long term. Examples include putting CCS in your will through a bequest, establishing trusts, or donating assets such as life insurance policies, retirement plans, or property.

Ways To Give

There are several ways to make your contribution to CCS, and we’ve outlined a few below.

Cash Donations (can be made via check or online)
Tax-Conscious Donations
- Donating Stock – a gift of stock may provide more benefits than a cash gift. When you make a gift of stock to Charleston Collegiate School, you eliminate the capital gains that would be due upon selling the stock AND receive a charitable tax deduction for the full market value of the stock.
- Give from a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) – you may have already received a charitable tax deduction for your gift of securities to the DAF. Now, you can request a grant from the DAF sponsor to support Charleston Collegiate School and fulfill your charitable goals.
- Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) – if you are at least 70 ½ years old, you are eligible to contribute up to $105,000 in 2024 ($210,000 for married couples) directly from your IRA. Since the money is a direct transfer from your IRA to Charleston Collegiate School, it never passes through your hands, and therefore you avoid the added taxable income (possible higher tax brackets) that comes with the IRS’s Required Minimum Distributions (RMD).
