Charleston Collegiate believes that children should take part in community service activities beginning at a young age. One of our goals is to help students understand the importance - and experience the pleasure - of “giving back.” The vast majority of our service-learning activities involve students working for a cause – such as making Valentines for soldiers, serving food at a homeless shelter, building Habitat for Humanity homes, or visiting nursing homes.

Students participate in service learning projects at every grade level.  You will find preschoolers doing art projects with retirement home residents, middle schoolers participating with Meals on Wheels and Kiawah Cares, and upper schoolers working with homeless shelters and Habitat for Humanity. All grade levels may participate in the PKD Walk, recycling programs, and many other community outreach initiatives!
