Recycled Art Sculpture Workshop with Mrs. Angela Walker
A special after school program has been added to the fall semester to allow students the opportunity to participate in this year’s National Garden Clubs’ Recycled Art Sculpture competition.
The National Garden Clubs of America host this event, and invite grades fourth through eighth to participate. The sculptures are exhibited at the Coastal Carolina Fair during the competition. The first place winners of this event go on to compete in a state competition held in Columbia, SC. The winners of this event are invited to participate in a celebration held in the spring. The first place winners of the State competition go on to compete on a National level.
Every year that our students have participated in this event, they have performed outstandingly well! Last year, CCS took every first place award in every category, and went on to win 11 state awards. We have yet to hear how the National awards from this particular event have been judged, and will not learn of the outcome until the spring of next year, however in the year prior our school brought home three National awards!
The art sculptures will be transported to and from the Coastal Carolina Fair and the artwork will remain the property of each student.
Please let Maggie Berry, email@example.com, know if your child(ren) would like to participate in this wonderful activity!
