for PreK through 4th grade students.
Wild Weeks in the Wilderness
for 5th through 12th grade students.

Summer Camp Under the Oaks

 

 

Summer Camp Under the Oaks 2021 has been scheduled to start Monday, June 7th, and run through Friday, July 23rd!

NO CAMP from July 5th - July 9th.

Summer Camp Under the Oaks is a wonderful learning day camp for children in rising PreK to Grade 4. Camp starts at 8am until 5pm, Monday through Friday. 
 
Every week of Summer Camp focuses on a different learning theme. Campers start off their day with a daily challenge that incorporates teamwork and bonding. Throughout the day many fun activities are offered to campers moving and grooving.

Wild Week in the Wilderness

 

We are about to kick off our 11th year of traveling to the mountains for a “Wild Week in the Wilderness”! This is a jam-packed trip of swimming, hiking, camping, sliding, laughing, playing, and exploring!! Join us for an
experience that your child will never forget!

This year, we are offering THREE trips total; 2 Middle School trips (5/6th grade trip and 7/8 grade trip), and 1 High School trip. Spots are limited.

Registration for all trips begins at 8:00 am on Monday, February 1st, 2021 for all trips! Early requests for registration WILL NOT be accepted. Please do not call the school to reserve a spot.

COVID-19 Statement:
CCS is using a variety of sources as we continue to develop strategies to determine our final plan for all Wild Week in the Wilderness trips. As we draw nearer to the departure dates we will release our final plans.

Those sources include, but are not limited to: Center for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA), South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS), Academy of Pediatrics Charleston County City of Charleston, and American Camp Association (ACA).

MIDDLE SCHOOL TRIPS DETAILS:

Dates for the rising 5th/6th graders trip: June 7-11, 2021

Dates for the rising 7th/8th graders trip: June 14-18, 2021

For each trip, students will camp out at the North Mills River campsite and spend four days exploring the beautiful Dupont State Park and Pisgah National Forest.

  • There are 14 available spots on each trip. First come, first serve.
  • Students from other schools are also welcome to join in on the adventure.
  • The cost for your child to attend is $650.
  • Registration begins at 8:00 am on Monday, February 1st, 2021. No earlier.
Payment:
A $350 deposit (cash/check made out to Charleston Collegiate School) is due Monday, February 8th, 2021. Please put your child’s name and camp dates in the Memo portion of the check. The remaining $300 (by cash/check- made out to CCS) will be due on April 1, 2020. Your deposit is non-refundable after March 15th. After May 1st, your trip is non-refundable.

How to Register:
Email Mr. Haynie at bhaynie@charlestoncollegiate.org, no earlier than 8am on Monday, February 1st. Be sure to list your child’s name and the dates of the trip. Mr. Haynie will respond to your email to let you know the status of your request.

Below, you will find what we provide for each student on the trips.
  • Transportation to and from Charleston and North Carolina
  • Camping fees, National Forest Usage Fees
  • All meals while on the trip (except two road meals at Subway)
  • Tents and cooking equipment
  • Two certified CPR/First Aid Instructors to accompany the group
  • Two certified lifeguards for all water activities
  • Complete equipment for group games and activities
  • Two paid ice cream stops along the way
  • At least 300 pictures and videos from the trip
  • A combination of 30 years of experience in the field of Outdoor Education from the instructors.
  • Voted “The best trip in the world” for the past ten years by former campers
HIGH SCHOOL TRIP DETAILS:

Dates for rising 9th- 12th graders:
June 21st-28th
Leaders: Mr. Haynie and Ms. Bowers.

This trip will be co-ed and open to all rising 9th - rising 12th-grade students. We will spend two nights in Pisgah National Forest, two nights at Table Rock State Park in Pickens SC, and three nights at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, NC. 

  • There are 14 available spots for this trip. First come, first serve.
  • Students from other schools are also welcome to join in on the adventure.
  • The cost for your child to attend is $1150
  • Registration begins at 8:00 am on Monday, February 1st, 2021. No earlier.

Payment:

A $600 deposit (by cash/check made out to Charleston Collegiate School) is due Monday, February 8th, 2021. Please put your child’s name and camp dates in the Memo portion of the check.
