"At CCS, we teach traditional values in unconventional ways."
-Hacker Burr, Head of School

Charleston Collegiate School believes strongly in the
student-centered classroom where the teacher is the coach and the student is the worker. Likewise, allowing students to investigate real-world problems and challenges as a means of acquiring skills and knowledge is at the core of the learning process.

Within the learning process, students are encouraged to develop their soft skills (e.g. communication, team-building, leadership) to help them be successful in academic, social, and professional environments.

Publicly presenting their findings through
exhibitions and engaging in meaningful reflection of the learning process are at the core of the Charleston Collegiate experience.

While the curriculum remains as the foundational content, the approach to acquiring that knowledge focuses on the process of learning and the critical application of that knowledge to the real world.
